About GIYC
The main focus of GIYC is the Muslim youth and to cater for the wider community. There is a definite need in todays society to combat various evils and bad distractions for our young generation. With this in mind, GIYC was conceived as an alternative that is both appealing and stimulating to the youth.
The objective was to attract the youth to the centre in order for them to develop their physical, mental, social and religious character, through various forms of interaction and provide a learning ground for those students seeking the correct knowledge according to Qur’an and Sunnah.
GIYC caters for both male and female from as young as 6 months of age through to adulthood. Activities start from Fajr and are varied as stated on the timetable.
The daily running of GIYC is done on a voluntary basis. Thus, all the administration, teaching, training etc, is provided by individuals who are making a sacrifice to improve the future of the Muslim generations of Sydney, in particular the greater Liverpool area. Hopefully this could be a model that could be emulated in other areas of New South Wales, interstate and overseas.
